emery annabelle is one year old today! what a blessing this girl has been to us for a whole year.
"i prayed for this child, and the Lord heard my prayer." 1 samuel 1:27.
emery is almost walking. she can take several steps, but she can't stop herself, so it ends up being a game of: step-step-step-CATCH ME! we need to be quick or she falls over.
we've started to switch her over to whole milk instead of formula and in a sippy cup instead of a bottle. neither transition is being done cold turkey - we've been mixing whole milk in with formula for about a week and she's had a few full servings of milk only. also she's been working on drinking from a sippy cup and does that a couple times a day when we have some extra time because it takes her longer. i think the two transitions will be complete in a week or two.
she can correctly sign "more," although it's possible she thinks it means "more cheerios." she's signed "please" a few times with much prompting (please say please!) and she likes to sign "eat" complete with pretend chewing.
she can say: "tay-cue" (Thank you), "uh too free" (one, two, three), "ma ma ma" (more), "gee" (Mickey), "chee" (cheese), "hey" (hair), "puh" (please), "key" (kitty), "raa-raw" (grandma), "suh" (soft), "nah nah nah" (no no no), "Hi," and "Daddy." and probably some others. most of what she says is repeating what i say and not much in context yet.
she knows the answer to "what does the sheep say?" "baa baa baa baa." but that's the same answer she'll give to "what does the pig say?" and "what does the duck say?" also, if i ask her "where is your hair?" she'll touch her hair.
she's stopped calling me mommy and now calls me "tt" or "chi-chi." i'm not sure where that came from other than me affectionately calling her "tt" on occasion.
we're having a small party for her on saturday. she'll have her first taste of birthday cake!
emery would not sit still at her photo session today.
